The head of the Human Rights Council under the President of Russia, Valery Fadeyev, contacted the Ambassador of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, regarding cases of discrimination against Russians at the Yerevan airport.

As reported by Day.Az, Telegram channels reported this.

The Human Rights Council under the President of Russia received appeals from Russian citizens who faced violations of their rights by employees of the Armenian airline FlyOne and employees of the Zvartnots airport. Fadeyev asked the ambassador to convey his concerns about such episodes to the competent authorities of Armenia.

The Council said there had been reports of passengers with children being “checked in” on flights without seats and not being offered any compensation. Airline representatives refused to give them even a glass of water and asked them to fly standing.

Another case involved a group of Russians flying Rome-Yerevan-Moscow who were not allowed to board their flight to Moscow because their flight from Rome was delayed. But instead of solving their problem, airport staff detained them and placed them in a police station without any explanation.
