Washington: The Russian-owned luxury yacht ‘Amadia’, which was seized by the United States, has reached the port of Honolulu in the state of Hawaii. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified the ship as belonging to Russian Prince Suleiman Karimov.

The U.S. says Karimov secretly bought the Cayman Islands flagship from various counterfeit companies. Amadia was the focal point of the Klepto Capture mission, which was set up to seize the property of the Russian rich following Russia’s occupation of Ukraine. The U.S. team acquired Amadia from the island nation of Fiji after winning a legal battle.

The ship, valued at $ 300 million (Rs 2,338 crore), is 106 meters long. Equal to the size of a football field. At the same time, Karimov’s lawyer argued that the luxury boat was named after another Russian tycoon who was not on the embargo list.
