According to Western countries, India was among 105 countries that voted in favor of the resolution, which Moscow used to justify Russian actions in Ukraine. 52 countries voted against the resolution, while 15 countries abstained.

The representative of India said that the concept of indigenous people was not relevant in the context of the country and said that he joined the consensus on the resolution with this understanding.

The representative of the Russian Federation expressed concern about the rise of racist and xenophobic rhetoric, calls for the deportation of migrants and refugees, Islamophobia, Afrophobia and anti-Semitism.

Many delegates expressed concern about Moscow’s attempt to use the pretext of fighting neo-Nazism to justify its brutal war against Ukraine. The representative of Ukraine emphasized that the draft had nothing to do with the real struggle against Nazism and neo-Nazism.
