The actor worked almost for free to make the first film “Deadpool”.

Ryan Reynolds, who played the lead role in “Deadpool” since 2016, took a pay cut to make the film, writes Fox news.
The film had a budget of 58 million dollars, which was a great success.
– When I finally got it, almost ten years had passed, says Reynolds to the New York Times.
The actor was also a producer for the film. He says the studio wouldn’t let screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick join the series.
– So I took the little salary I had left and paid them to be on the set with me, so that we would have a kind of script room, he says.
Reynolds believes the low budget was a positive for the film.
– One of the biggest enemies of creativity is too much time and money, and this film had neither time nor money, he says.
Although Reynolds took home a large portion of his salary from this film, the finances are not bad. He is one of the richest actors in the industry with a fortune of over $350 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
This corresponds to just over NOK 3.7 billion.
He has increased his fortune due to his acting success, but also as an investor in several companies.
“Deadpool” grossed over $782.8 million worldwide. As a result of the success came “Deadpool 2” in 2018, and now “Deadpool and Wolverine” is coming soon.
