Donations are used for firefighter treatment, tuition, etc.
S-Oil has supported over 3,000 firefighters and their families over 19 years.
On the 19th, S-OIL held a donation ceremony for firefighter hero guardians at its headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul, along with the National Fire Agency and the Korea Council for Social Welfare. We delivered 560 million won in donations.
The donations from the Firefighting Hero Guardian will be used for medical expenses for firefighters who died on the job, tuition fees for children of firefighters who died on the job, and awards for firefighter heroes. Along with the donation ceremony, an appointment ceremony for Al Hizazi S-Oil CEO Honorary Firefighter was also held.
Since signing the Firefighting Heroes Protection Agreement with the National Fire Agency in 2006, S-Oil has been carrying out programs such as tuition for the children of firefighters who died on the job, bereaved family consolation payments, medical expenses for injured firefighters, firefighter vacation camps, and this year’s firefighting hero award program. Over the 19 years until this year, 10 billion won worth of sponsorship was provided to about 3,000 firefighters and their families. When an accident such as a fire occurs at a firefighting site, S-Oil has been the first to assist firefighters. In recognition of these contributions, S-Oil received the 29th KBS 119 Service Award, and this time, CEO Al Hizazi was appointed as an honorary firefighter.
S-Oil CEO Al Hizazi said, “S-Oil has never forgotten and is proud of the sacrifices and courage of firefighters who devote themselves to society.” He added, “We will continue to support firefighter heroes and protect people in various disaster situations under difficult working conditions.” “The state will support firefighters and actively invest in fire safety and hazardous material facility safety,” he said.
