Paul: Former Proteas spinner Imran Tahir has blamed Team India’s defeat in South Africa (2021-22) on South Africa. Tahir criticized Team India for underestimating the current South African men’s cricket team.

‘I don’t judge a team. But India is a very good team and the only emerging team is the current South Africa. India misunderstood and overconfident that such a Proteas team could be easily defeated. This is the main reason for the failure of the Indian team. Team India has dominated world cricket in Tests and ODIs for the last four to five years. Still, the current Proteas team played well and won the home advantage against India, ”Tahir told ANI.

‘The Greatest Success’

‘I believe this is the biggest success of the South African cricket team than anything else. The team of youngsters defeated a team that had long dominated both formats. “South Africa played well and won the Test and ODI series,” Tahir added. After winning the first Test at Centurion, India lost both the series. In ODIs, they lost the first two of the three-match series.

The hosts won the second ODI by seven wickets at Paul’s. India won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 287 for six in the allotted overs. In reply, South Africa lost just three wickets in 48.1 overs. Earlier in the day, Proteas had won the first ODI by 31 runs. The final and third ODI of the series will be played in Cape Town tomorrow.
