Justice Minister Gideon Saar is considering postponing the hearing in the Judicial Appointments Committee, in which members of the committee will decide on the next four Supreme Court justices, Ynet reported this evening (Saturday).
This is because no agreement has yet been reached between the committee members regarding the identity of the future judges, who will decide four current ones: Hanan Meltzer and Menachem Mazuz who have already retired, Vanilla Handel and George called for them to finish soon.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice is considering appointing attorney Noyet Negev to the position of Attorney General. According to a report in News 12, it is estimated that her answer will be negative, but Saar is looking for a woman for the position, for the first time in the place of the state.
Advocate Negev represents the owners of Yedioth Ahronoth, Arnon Noni Mozes, in the 2000 case, and she is defined as an attorney who takes an advocacy approach.
The procedure for selecting the next Attorney General will be promoted after the procedure for selecting Supreme Court justices.
