Finally a win: SV Elversberg won 2-1 at home at Kaiserlinde against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. A hand penalty ultimately gave the hosts the lead.

As early as the 7th minute, the Elversberg fans celebrated a header from SVE-Neuzugang Florian Le Joncour – too soon, as it turned out, because the assistant’s flag was up.

FCK equalized shortly before the break

And yet the hosts initially dominated the game at the Kaiserlinde, which was attended by 11,150 spectators, even if the FCK fought and had more possession of the ball throughout the game. Youngster Paul Wanner received a cross from Maurice Neubauer on his right foot on the edge of the penalty area, went through and scored – 1-0 for Elversberg (19th).

After that, the Red Devils found it increasingly difficult against Elversberg’s offensive players. Because fans threw lemons onto the field in protest against investors in football, the first half had to be interrupted, which is why there was eight minutes of added time before the break.

This in turn took revenge from Elversberg’s perspective, because shortly before the final whistle, Kaiserslautern’s Ragner Ache equalized 1-1 from 24 meters (45th + 7th).

Jacobsen converts a penalty

Marlon Ritter caused a short interruption. Elversberg’s Semih Sahin brought down the FCK player in the penalty area because he stepped on his foot from behind. Ritter had to be treated briefly but was able to continue playing.

In the 56th minute, a hand penalty for Elversberg: Wanner played the ball into the path of Robin Fellhauer, Kaiserslautern’s defender Almamy Touré got his arm to it. Thore Jacobsen was then able to convert to give the hosts a 2-1 lead.

Elversberg stabilizes in midfield

Kaiserslautern then repeatedly tried to equalize again, establishing themselves in the Elversberg penalty area – but making too many mistakes. Elversberg defended confidently until the end and can therefore be happy with three points.

In the table, the SVE is ranked 9th with 28 points. The next league game is next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. away against Fortuna Düsseldorf, currently fifth in the table.

SR television will broadcast a detailed report on the game on Monday night at midnight.
