Saarlouis (Saarland) – As a child she was rather narrow, climbed trees and was always on the move. Now she is 183 centimeters tall and owns her pounds. She remained a whirlwind. Susanne Autzen (44) from Saarlouis is now running as a curvy model at Fashion Week in Paris for Berlin designer Paulina Tsvetanova (39).
Above all, she wants to send a message that ultimately it doesn’t matter whether you wear a dress size 32 or 48: “We women put far too much pressure on ourselves. Most men love curvy women.”

The jack-of-all-trades – journalist, podcaster, networker and crisis coach – has learned to live with the pounds. But above all, to accept them. “I never really had a problem with it, even though as a young girl I had to get used to my slightly larger bust size – especially when playing school sports,” says the 44-year-old. “But ultimately the determining question is: How do I feel about myself or do I allow myself to be influenced by others?”

Some catwalk blood runs in her veins. Her aunt Hedy modeled. Autzen: “She also encouraged me to take fashion photos. But it took some time before I had the courage. A travel company was the client at the time.”

As a presenter, the self-confident “Saarlander with all her heart” already gained experience in the world of fashion. But she still can’t quite believe that she’s in Paris: “I would never have dared to even dream about it. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and tell myself: This is real! And then I’m just incredibly happy.”

Contact with the Berlin designer came about through her friend and professional model Dina Wacker from Zweibrücken (RLP), who won the “Miss Plus Size Germany” model competition in 2015. She is also competing in Paris. “As a powerful woman, I obviously convinced Paulina,” says Autzen.
She does have some trepidation. But she takes her big appearance relaxed and with humor: “I eat a portion of spaghetti every day. It slips into the breasts and hips.”
