Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury held a meeting with European Investment Bank Vice President Nicola Beer.
The bilateral meeting was held in Luxembourg, the financial and banking center of Europe, on Wednesday.
At this time, Bangladesh Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and Head of Mission to EU Mahbub Hasan Saleh and other officials of Bangladesh Embassy and European Investment Bank were present.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury told the meeting that Bangladesh and the European Investment Bank will strengthen environmental and economic cooperation in the coming days.
He said that mutual international cooperation will combat climate change and ensure sustainable economic growth for the people of Bangladesh.
Nicola Beer, Vice President of the European Investment Bank, said: “Today’s debates reinforce the potential to boost economic development alongside climate change.”
Beer said, ‘The meeting with Environment Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury was very fruitful. We welcome the strategy of linking the fight against climate change with economic growth, which will benefit Bangladeshi citizens’.
