The Municipal Council in Sabha issued the latest update of the inventory committee on the effects of heavy rainfall in the municipality.
The council said in its statement: “The total number of affected people registered with the inventory committee until Wednesday evening was 1,952.”
He added StatementThe affected categories are divided as follows.
Collapsed homes represent 39% of the total affected.
Dilapidated homes represent 28% of the total affected.
Destruction of property represents 33% of the total affected.
The statement added: “Some of the neighborhood mayors have not sent their data yet, and we expect the number to increase after all the lists of neighborhood mayors are completed,” adding: “The electricity company’s efforts are still ongoing to restore electricity to some neighborhoods, but it faces challenges, including flooding in some neighborhoods and burning some transformers.”
The council’s statement continued: “Suction trucks arrived at the Cairo-Tayouri neighborhood and began pumping out water near the electrical transformers and some severely damaged homes. The emergency and response teams also received lists of those in need of assistance after they were inspected by the social affairs teams, and tomorrow they will begin providing assistance to all those entitled to it in coordination with the neighborhood mukhtars.”
The statement confirmed that “the environmental sanitation teams in the Sabha Municipality have begun analyzing the water and areas where sewage water has mixed with rainwater in the neighborhoods where the water has receded, and will begin analysis and spraying in the rest of the neighborhoods immediately after the completion of relief and suction work.”
