Shubman Gill is in terrific form. In an interview, a question arose as to who Sachin or Kohli would pick to trouble Gill, who coolly faced the flying balls. Saying that his father was a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar and it was that desire that made him return to cricket, Gill replied that it was Virat Kohli who influenced him as a star.
Gill says that when Sachin stopped playing, he was not old enough to fully understand what cricket was and it was only after that that he started approaching cricket seriously. Therefore, Gill stated that Virat Kohli influenced him as a batsman. Gill showed brilliant performances against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Gill has come close to Babar Azam’s record for most runs in an ODI series.
