In support and solidarity with the population of the State of Mexico, where heavy rains have been recorded, causing flooding in various neighborhoods in the municipalities of Chalco and Ecatepec, the Mexico City Water System (SACMEX) deployed technical and operational personnel, as well as specialized equipment to deal with the emergency.

Through a statement issued by the organization in conjunction with the Government of Mexico City, it was specified that, in the municipality of Chalco, SACMEX personnel came with pumping equipment to provide support in the Culturas de México neighborhoods, specifically on the streets of Tezcatlipoca, Chalchihueiticue, Tlaxcaltecas, Purépechas and Yaquis.

To respond to the call in this municipality, four hydropneumatic teams, two Hercules trucks, four pairs of mechanical winches, four dry box trucks, two HIAB cranes, a flatbed truck, four three-inch pumping units and five more four-inch ones were deployed. It should be noted that Hercules-type pumping equipment is being used 24 hours a day at the intersection of Tezcatlipoca Street and Madres Solteras Alley, while mechanical winch crews are working on clearing the collector on Avenida Solidaridad; so far, eight cubic meters of silt have been removed.

Meanwhile, two hydropneumatic vactor-type vehicles are carrying out work in the manhole located within the civil protection facilities. Another hydropneumatic team is carrying out the survey of the sewer on 10 de Abril and 30 de Mayo streets, and another on 20 de Marzo street, between Benito Juárez and 5 de Mayo, in the Jacalones neighborhood.

In total, 250 meters of the Solidaridad collector and two manholes were probed with these hydropneumatic equipment, and 450 meters of sewer in the Jacalones colony were probed. Additionally, thanks to the work with mechanical winches, the desilting of the Solidaridad collector continues, from which a cumulative 37.5 cubic meters of silt has been extracted.

The Hercules equipment maintains continuous pumping of 740 liters per second 24 hours a day. Likewise, 13 pumping units of different capacities are still working on site.

Meanwhile, support was provided with two two-inch pumping equipment on the streets of Otomíes, Tlaxcaltecas and Chichimecas, to mitigate the water levels on the roads, thus solving the flooding.
