The academic community and the society of Arta have been plunged into sadness by the death of the professor, Dean of the Department of Agriculture of the Agricultural School of the University of Ioannina, Anastasios Tsina.
The 58-year-old professor had not shown signs of life in the last few days, did not appear at the School and did not answer the phones, as a result of which the police authorities were informed. Police officers went to his house and found his body.
Death is most likely due to natural causes, however the forensic examination is expected to give clear answers.
Anastasios Tsinas was a graduate and doctor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the AUTH and was a professor of the Department of Agricultural Technologists of the TEI of Epirus, specializing in “Agricultural Animal Pathology and Veterinary Pharmacology”.
From February 2013 until November 2017 he was Deputy President of TEI Epirus with responsibilities for Academic Affairs, Personnel, Student Care & Building Facilities. From December 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018, he was Rector of the former TEI of Epirus.
