Bangladesh beat Nepal 4-1 in the final of SAFF U-20 Football Championship to win the title. Which is the first title of Bangladesh in Youth Safe. The historic title win is dedicated to the martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement in July and August. Bangladesh Under-20 team coach Maruful Haque announced this after the match.

He said, ‘Alhamdulillah. All praise be to Allah. First of all, I would like to say, our championship trophy and our success, on behalf of all the team, I would like to dedicate to the martyrs who gave their lives and sacrificed themselves in the anti-discrimination student movement last month and this month.

Bangladesh was in the same group with Nepal in this year’s SAF Championship. From there, the group advanced to the semi-finals as runners-up. In the last four clash, the defending champions reached the final after defeating mighty India 4-3 in a tiebreaker. And in the final, the hosts beat Nepal 4-1 to win the first title. Bangladesh lost 2-1 to Nepal in the group stage match. Besides avenging that loss in the final, Mirazul-Rabbi also won the title.
