Colombia is a country with a large area in South America. Its capital is Bogota.

Many are making round trips from the US to Colombia.

Americans have been traveling there for years to see the beautiful cities of Medellin and Cartagena, as well as the scenic regions of Tarona and Sierra Nevada.

Last September 2022, the famous Forbes magazine placed the country at the top of the list of the most beautiful countries in the world.

But for the past few months, Americans and Westerners traveling to the country have been at risk.

Dove Kerr (50) from Minnesota, USA, went on a 2-month trip to Medellin. Dav Kerr, who was in touch with his family, suddenly disappeared. While the Columbia police were looking for him, his murdered body was found in a wooded area.

The investigation revealed that he was killed for about $2000.

It has come to light that he and his friend killed him for money when he went out with a woman he met on a dating app.

Similarly, Jeff Huett was found murdered in a hotel room.

The Colombian government has reported that 32 foreigners have been killed up to October 2023, including 12 Americans and 3 British nationals. This figure is 40 percent higher than in 2022.

The American embassy there has warned that there is an increase in gangs who talk friendly with tourists, mix the colorless drug “scopolamine” (scopolamine) in their drinks, kidnap them, steal their belongings and kill them.

It has advised those who wish to travel from their country to be cautious when conversing with people they do not know, to stay in touch with friends and relatives in their own country wherever they go, and not to resist being caught in a robbery attempt.
