BRUNICO. The Carabinieri of Chienes, with the help of personnel from the Provincial Labor Inspectorate, have carried out checks on hygiene and safety in the workplace in recent days in municipality of Falzes. Two construction sites were inspected: one relating to the expansion of an existing hotel structure and the other concerning a new residential complex.
Around 50 workers were checked and at the end they were reported to the judicial authority and the Labor Inspectorate 41 people (of which 32 foreigners of various nationalities) for various types of offenses under the Consolidated Law on Worker Safety: 34 workers and 2 self-employed artisans for not having used the personal protective equipmentan entrepreneur for a double offense relating to the failure to carry out temporary works suitable for eliminating the danger of falling from a heightan entrepreneur for breaches relating to traffic safety on construction sites, a safety officer for failing to supervise the use of personal protective equipment on workers.
In one case, since there were serious and imminent safety risks, the construction site was temporarily suspended.
