(Dolbeau-Mistassini) A woman died when an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) fell on her, Saturday noon, in the garage of a private residence, in Dolbeau-Mistassini in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint- region. Jean, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
“According to the information gathered, the old lady in her fifties was performing mechanical work under the vehicle,” said Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a spokesperson for the SQ.
The vehicle would have slipped off the lifting device and she would have become stuck under it, continued the sergeant.
It is a member of the family who, seeing that the victim was not back at the house, would have made the sad discovery by going to the garage annexed to the residence.
The paramedics carried out resuscitation maneuvers, to no avail. The death was noted at the scene.
Investigators are at work to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. The reason why the ATV fell remains to be clarified.
