The first semi-final of the 31st edition of the BBK awards was contested at the Getxo Elkartegia in Getxo in a “very good atmosphere” and the groups from two groups sang. On the one hand, from group A, the ‘Sagutxo kaskarinas’ – Amaia Gallastegi, Maddi Aurtenetxe and Naroa Iturrioz – and the ‘Txorikantarias’ – Malen Bilbao, Ekhi Zuluaga and Aiala Irurtia – groups; and, on the other hand, from group B, the ‘Bertsolari Koittaauak of Bilbao’ -Unai Foruria, Maider Altuna and Peru Irastorza- and the ‘Pello Joxepak’ – Araitz Katarain, Ixone Asategi and Irune Basagoiti- groups. The first is the level up to 18 years and the second is up to 2 years.
At the end of the session, the teams ‘Sagutxo kaskarinana’ and ‘Pello Joxepak’ collected the most points, as decided by the jury composed of Ander Arrien, Miriam Juaristi and Juanjo Respaldiza, and therefore they have qualified for the final of the BBK Awards for Young Bertsolari. Ander Elortegi did the secretarial work.
This Wednesday, November 22, the next semi-finals of the BBK awards will be played in Mungia. Mugire Corner. There, the group A’s ‘Zallako Anitzak’ and ‘Rhima eiztariak’ and group B’s ‘Izaron hautsak, Kristiñauen Justozieruek’ and ‘Ba…Lea’s verses’ will be singing.
The Azneik final will take place at the BBK Sala in Bilbao, on November 29, at 18.00. In total, around 50 bertsola singers have performed in the 2023 edition, for the first time with groups created based on the natural relationships of the bertsola singers. In fact, the composition was previously based on the regions of Bizkaia. All the sessions were held during school hours, and therefore the audience was students who are working on acting in schools.
