The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national level was discussed by Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov and Regional Director of the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) for Europe and Central Asia Gwi-Yeop Son.
This was reported on Monday by Day.Az with reference to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
“At the meeting on July 29, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national level, food security, human capital, gender equality and environmental sustainability, as well as Azerbaijan’s effective partnership with the UN in these areas,” the department notes.
The parties also discussed the fourth voluntary national review of Azerbaijan, presented in July to the UN within the framework of the High-Level Political Forum.
“The topic of implementing the “Framework Document on Sustainable Development Cooperation between the United Nations and Azerbaijan for 2021-2025″ was also touched upon, as well as measures to facilitate the organization and holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29),” the Ministry of Economy said.
