jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan Central Executive Board, Said Abdullah, considered it reasonable for the son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka to resign from the position of Mayor of Solo.
Because, he said, Gibran needs to prepare himself after being elected as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia accompanying Prabowo Subianto.
“It is natural for Mas Gibran to leave Solo, to get something that is not just an atmosphere, but to prepare himself to become the second person in this Republic,” said Said Abdullah answering media crews at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/7).
The Chairman of the Budget Agency (Banggar) of the Indonesian House of Representatives certainly appreciates Gibran’s step in stepping down ahead of the inauguration of the elected President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in October 2024.
“Yes, I really respect and appreciate Mr. Gibran who is stepping down as mayor and preparing to take up a new position in October,” he said.
Gibran previously resigned as Mayor of Solo after a letter of farewell was submitted to the Surakarta City DPRD on Tuesday (16/7).
Gibran revealed that one of the reasons for his resignation was the preparation for his inauguration as Vice President on October 20, 2024.
“In preparation for the inauguration on October 20, of course there are many things that need to be prepared now,” he said, Tuesday.
PDIP DPP Chairman Said Abdullah considered it reasonable for President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to resign from the position of Mayor of Solo.
