(Saint-Donat) A woman died and another person was seriously injured in a violent collision between two vehicles in Saint-Donat-de-Rimouski on Saturday.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Highway 298.
According to Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), “a vehicle traveling northbound would have deviated from its lane to collide with a vehicle traveling southbound”.
The driver of the vehicle which deviated from his lane suffered serious injuries and on Saturday evening “he was in critical condition”.
The passenger in the vehicle, who seemed to have suffered only minor injuries, died in the evening at the hospital.
“The person involved who was in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries,” said the spokesperson for the SQ.
An investigation is underway to try to understand the circumstances of this accident.
