Last weekend, the Second National Congress of 40 Days for Life in Spain took place in Madrid, which was attended by Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, its head in the United Kingdom. The British volunteer shared the important influence of Saint Maximilian Kolbe on his pro-life apostolate.
During the gala dinner that was offered on Saturday night, Vaughan-Spruce explained how her parents, before she was born, thought that she was going to be a boy who would have been named Maximilian.
“They had to stop calling me Maximilian and called me Isabel,” she explained, adding: “However, Maximilian continued to be a great influence in my life.”
