Every January 3, the Church celebrates the feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.

This festival commemorates the appointment of Jesus, announced in a dream to Joseph (see: Mt 1, 19-25), who, following the angel’s instructions, took the Virgin Mary as his wife, and, when the time of birth arrived, he called the newborn “Jesus”.

Saint Bernardine of Siena (1380-1444) said in one of his sermons: “This is that most holy name longed for by the patriarchs, awaited with anxiety, demanded with groans, invoked with sighs, requested with tears, given when the fullness of life arrives. funny”.
