In Paris 2024, we are not changing a winning formula. After the success of the recruitment operation at the Cité du cinéma at the end of September in Seine-Saint-Denis, a second session will be held on Tuesday in Yvelines. The national velodrome, which will host the track cycling events next summer, will serve as the setting for this major hiring day in preparation for the Olympic Games.

Delphine Philippe-Giraux, the new territorial director of Pôle emploi, is in charge alongside the Olympic Games organizing committee (Cojo). Appointed in June, this 42-year-old executive, who grew up in Yvelines and joined Pôle emploi as an advisor in Trappes, underlines the importance of this meeting. “There will be 700 job offers at the velodrome, it’s huge,” said the manager. You can only participate in the Olympics in France once in your life and this is a unique opportunity to do so. »

Around forty companies will be present. The result is fixed-term or permanent contracts for candidates – with or without qualifications – interested in the hotel and catering industry, cleaning, waste management, events, security, transport, logistics, etc.

A bonus of up to 2,000 euros for training

“The spectrum is very broad,” confirms the territorial director of Pôle emploi. For our 60,000 job seekers, this is a golden opportunity to get back on track, to enhance their CV, for an extraordinary event. I also remind you that you can find training there, paid up to 2,000 euros, in these professions related to the Olympics, that’s not nothing. »

A certain number of positions could be permanent after the Olympic Games (from July 26 to August 11) and Paralympic Games (from August 28 to September 8). “Some offers will not be on paper,” warns Delphine Philippe-Giraux. But when an employer has someone of value, they tend to want to keep them. »

Remember that the Yvelines department is well off since it hosts four Olympic sites: the Château de Versailles (for horse riding and modern pentathlon), the national golf course in Guyancourt, the Élancourt hill (mountain biking) and the national velodrome (track cycling) backed by its BMX stadium in Montigny-le-Bretonneux.

On November 21, the velodrome will also be the scene of two sessions “From the stadium to employment”, the original recruitment campaign which anonymously brings together bosses and job seekers. Certain visitors, pre-selected*, will be able to participate in the operation set up by Employment center with the French tennis and athletics federations.
