Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas involved in altercation with contractor in his neighborhood

Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was involved in an altercation with a contractor in his neighborhood, resulting in Thomas being placed in a police car. The contractor, Luis Cifuentes, claimed that Thomas pushed him and threatened him over where his vehicle was parked.

Cifuentes, the project manager for a home being built near Thomas’s residence, stated that Thomas threw two bricks at his truck and pushed him over. According to Cifuentes, Thomas was upset about the construction crew parking their vehicles on the street and made threatening comments towards him.

“He drives up, and I see him get out, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what he’s doing, I’m just worried about my job site,’ and he walks up to this big pile of sand and grabs a brick, and he throws it at my car,” Cifuentes explained.

The Saints have acknowledged the incident and are in the process of gathering more details. It is currently unclear whether Thomas was arrested as a result of the altercation.

Cifuentes, who expressed admiration for Thomas, was taken aback by the incident. “I told him, I was like, ‘man, listen, I cheered for you every Sunday, I never once thought I would have an issue like this with you.’ So, now we’re here,” Cifuentes said.

Despite the altercation, there is no indication that the incident will prevent Thomas from playing in the upcoming game against Minnesota. Thomas, who has faced injury setbacks in his career over the last three years, has played in all nine games this year, ranking third on the Saints in both catches (38) and receiving yards (439).
