On Sakhalin, where a snow cyclone raged for several days, they continue to struggle with the consequences of the elements. For three days, the cyclone brought almost a month’s worth of snow, filling houses up to the windows of the first floors, and cars up to the roof.
The cities and regions of the island were cut off from each other, it is not always possible to get even from one region of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to another.
All information flows to the Call Center of system 112 – its work was inspected by the head of the region Valery Limarenko, the press service of the regional government reported. The largest number of appeals is related to the clearing of roads, the operation of public transport and the provision of food. So, according to the Minister of Agriculture Inna Pavlenko, in the Dolinsky and Korsakov regions, where there were reports of difficulties with the work of several stores, the situation has returned to normal. Trade facilities are working, there is bread and essential goods everywhere. The day before in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk there were problems with the delivery of bread to the Sinegorsk and Sanatorium regions. The road there was punched from Friday morning, the situation was complicated by the hilly terrain, the height of the snow reached two meters.
Valery Limarenko instructed to provide all areas of the island with food and essential goods.
– We must make every effort to break through the road to the settlements as soon as possible. In the meantime, there is no message, it is necessary to organize the delivery of bread and products by snowmobiles. All people should be provided with the most necessary, – he said.
The mayor’s office of the capital of the island region, in turn, notes that the situation with the clearing of roads in the regional center remains difficult, although the primary clearing of the main highways of the city to the planning areas has already been carried out.
In the morning, the situation was discussed at a meeting of the operational headquarters.
At the request of the mayor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sergey Nadsadin, all vice-mayors personally check the quality of the clearing every night. Tonight, the city was inspected by the first vice-mayor, head of the administration apparatus Alexei Frizyuk. He checked remote areas, in particular – the route to Vestochka. As well as Gorky, Zheleznodorozhnaya, Emelyanov, Pogranichnaya, Bolnichnaya, Sakhalinskaya streets.
In the morning, according to the results of the detour, claims were made to the contractors: the work of the Spetsstroy and Transstroy companies caused the most complaints. The latter, in addition to the unsatisfactory clearing of Lenin and Sakhalinskaya streets, “failed” the work on Bolnichnaya and Khabarovskaya streets. Now the issue of terminating the contract with this organization is being decided.
At the same time, conscientious companies, those who are ready and able to work efficiently, the mayor’s office will assist – help with equipment and additional labor.
– We switched to a round-the-clock mode of operation, we do not leave for the weekend. We are doing everything to create conditions for the population and return to normal life. Therefore, we demand maximum return from contractors in the form of high-quality work, – Sergey Nadsadin noted.

Recall that the cyclone came to the south of Sakhalin on January 12, an emergency mode was introduced in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. For three days, almost a month’s rainfall fell in the city. According to the Sakhalin hydrometeorological service, on Saturday the cyclone will begin to leave the islands. So the inhabitants of the region will have a chance to deal with the consequences of the elements in relatively calm weather. The Southern Kuril Islands will be less lucky: windy weather with snow will continue at the beginning of the working week.
