The monthly salary before taxes for the chairman of the board is 10,141.72 euros, and for members of the board – 9,219.75 euros.

Comparatively, for example, the chairman of the board of Latvian Television Ivars Priede received a total of 70,567 euros or around 5,900 euros per month, and the chairman of the board of Latvian Radio Una Klapkalne – 65,688 euros or around 5,500 euros per month, according to the declarations of state officials submitted by them.

SEPLP told LETA agency that when determining the monthly remuneration, the average amount of the fixed part of the remuneration was evaluated and taken into account in the sector in the private sector in a capital company of the appropriate size for the relevant position. Namely, SEPLP stressed that “Latvijas Sabiedriskais medijs” corresponds to a large capital company, therefore it is not correct to compare it with the remunerations of the board members of Latvian Television and Latvijas Radio, because the mentioned capital companies correspond to medium capital companies.

Also, when determining the remuneration, as stated by SEPLP, the ambitious, hard-to-achieve goals set in the capital company’s planning documents are taken into account when implementing the reorganization, the scope and complexity of duties related to the operation of a single media, as well as the manageable risks with a significant impact on the operation and responsibility of the capital company, when implemented with a single reorganization related to media activities. Also, the capital company’s financial resources available for the payment of remuneration, the share of the capital company’s own revenues and the share of public financial resources in the total revenues of the capital company are taken into account, reducing the base salary accordingly, taking into account that the capital company’s financing comes from public resources.

As reported, SEPLP has announced a competition for the positions of board members of the emerging VSIA “Latvijas Sabiedriskais medijs”. A competition has been announced for the positions of board chairman, board member for program and service development, board member for financial management, board member for technology management and board member for personnel management.

Therefore, we invite candidates with a broad vision, the ability to inspire and achieve results – both those who come from the media environment to participate in the competition , as well as those who have experience and success in working in other sectors,” emphasizes Jānis Siksnis, chairman of SEPLP.
