Despite the establishment of a professional equality index, wage inequalities between men and women remain a reality in France. In a study published on Monday, the ADP research institute makes the following observation: 75% of men say they have had a raise in 2022, compared to 59% of women. And even when the latter obtained an increase in their remuneration, it was lower than that of men: they were increased by an average of 5.52%, against 4.15% for women.
“This is a major challenge for companies which, by acting in this way, put themselves in danger,” comments Carlos Fontelas de Carvalho, president of ADP, in a press release. “This injustice risks […] to reinforce an ever greater lack of motivation and loyalty among employees,” he predicts.
