The Histadrut, the Arkie management and the company’s workers’ committee signed three new collective bargaining agreements. The agreements, which significantly improve the wages of hundreds of company employees, will apply to aircraft maintenance workers, flight attendants and ground workers.
As part of the agreements, wages will be increased by at least 10% in each of the three sectors, as specified in the signed agreements.
The Chairman of the Transportation Workers Union, Attorney Eyal Yadin, welcomed the agreements: “This is an unprecedented achievement in which three collective bargaining agreements were reached at the same time in one company, for three different sectors. Today more than ever, these achievements are important to deal with the economic crisis that the airlines have fallen into, and all this in fruitful cooperation with the management of Arkia. This moment proves the importance of the work incorporated in improving and strengthening the status of the employee, and I hope that more companies will follow suit.”
Chairman and CEO of Arkia, Gadi Teper: “I welcome the collective agreements reached for the land, maintenance and stewards sectors. These agreements benefit the employees and will help direct the company’s entry into the Israeli capital market.”
CEO of Arcia International, Oz Berlowitz: “We concluded a long and complex negotiation that matured into excellent agreements for the management and the employees. This is an important and additional layer that will allow Arkia to grow and expand, bring it to the forefront, and position it as the largest tourism and aviation company in Israel.”
The Director of the Aviation Division of the Transport Workers’ Union, Adv. Keren Klaper: “I am glad that at the end of lengthy negotiations, we were able to sign a series of agreements that significantly improve the salary conditions of the employees. In the negotiations for the formation of the agreement, on behalf of the Histadrut, the CEO of the Transport Workers’ Union, attorney Roy Blitenthal, also took part; Adv.
