Namakkal Postal Division Superintendent Asif Iqbal has said that the sale of gold notes will start tomorrow in post offices in Namakkal district.
He issued a statement in this regard:
Sale of gold notes will begin tomorrow at all post offices in Namakkal district. One can buy gold bonds from one gram to 4,000 grams.
Investment tenure of gold bond is 8 years. At the end of 8 years, the bonds can be converted into cash at the value on that date. If required, the gold bond can be converted into cash after completion of five years.
This plan is a long term savings plan. The investment made through this scheme will be credited to the bank account of the investors every six months at 2.5 per cent annual interest calculated by the Central Reserve Bank.
This is additional income available to gold bond investors. This scheme is working in all post offices from tomorrow till 26th. Currently, the price of gold is fixed at Rs 5,197 per gram.
At post offices, postal receipt will be issued to those who pay in gold paper. After 20 days, the gold certificate will be issued.
