Public can benefit by buying tomatoes sold at low prices through fair price shops in Ariyalur district.

The supply of tomatoes in Tamil Nadu has decreased drastically in the last few weeks. As a result, tomatoes are being sold at Rs.70 to Rs.75 per kg. Further, Ariyalur District Consumers Cooperative Wholesale Warehouse and Ariyalur Agricultural Producers Cooperative Sales Association have been ordered to purchase tomatoes and sell them through fair price shops. Accordingly
Ariyalur District Consumers Cooperative Wholesale Warehouse and Ariyalur Agricultural Producers Cooperative Sales Association started the work of buying tomatoes in bulk and selling 1 kg tomatoes at Rs.35 in public distribution scheme fair price shops. A kilo of tomato is available at Rs.35 in reasonable price shops, so the public buys tomatoes with enthusiasm.
