Former minister Jayakumar has been arrested in various cases, including land grabbing, which attacked a DMK official during the urban local government elections. AIADMK protests were held across Tamil Nadu condemning the arrest.

A protest led by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanichamy was held at the Salem Fort ground yesterday. This demonstration is not allowed on the police behalf.

The Salem City Police have registered a case against former Chief Minister Edappadi Palanichamy for participating in the protest without permission.

Hundreds of cases have been registered against former ministers Chemmalai, Vijayalakshmi, Palanichamy, district secretary Venkatajalam, legislators Balasubramaniam, Rajamuthu, Sundararajan, Chitra, Jaisankar Nallathambi and Edappadi Palanichamy’s friend Ilangovan.
