Sales of smart speakers in Russia in the first half of 2022 grew by more than 70% compared to the same period last year, a representative of M.video-Eldorado told Vedomosti. According to him, the sales volume in this segment of the electronics market amounted to 780,000 units, and in monetary terms – 6 billion rubles.
A significant increase in sales of this product is also recorded by other players. For six months of this year, speakers were sold in pieces by 94% more than a year earlier, says Denis Chernov, head of the accessories and network equipment purchasing group at Citilink. He does not give absolute numbers. According to him, the peak of sales fell on January (due to the New Year holidays) and February (a surge in demand is associated with February 23 and March 8). “At Wildberries, the segment of speakers with a voice assistant for the first half of the year grew by 233% year-on-year in money and by 145% in units,” a representative of the marketplace said.
