Salman Shah is the popular hero of Dhakai cinema. This short-lived actor reached the top of fame by acting in 27 movies in just four years of acting career. Salman entered the silver screen with the movie ‘Qayamat To Qayamat’. Actress Moushumi acted opposite him in it. This couple got great fame by teaming up in the movie.
Salman Shah died mysteriously on September 6, 1996 when Jupiter was on the ascendant. A long 28 years have passed since his death. But millions of fans still remember Salman. Mousumi also remembers. On the occasion of his death anniversary, this actress has reminisced about her beloved hero.
Moushumi said, ‘Today is 28 years since losing Salman. Sometimes I feel like I am the lucky star in the world whose first hero is forever in the hearts of fans even after so many years of death. Even after 28 years, Salman is still as new to me as he is to his fans. I think about the day when all the illusions of the world have been torn apart and gone to the other side. But it doesn’t seem twenty-eight years. I may have only deeply remembered this September 6 due to being busy with so much work. But now I feel more removed from work and I wonder where he ran away from life all these years?’
Salman used to get uncomfortable if Moushumi was upset on the shooting sets. Referring to that, Moushumi said, “Salman, let me go back to those days of Arabism.” As opposed to me being calm and quiet, she is fierce. He used to be uncomfortable when I was upset, and when he was upset, I felt sad. Not all of these things were revealed. It was already like that. But this sincerity and love was beyond anything. This went on for about three years. Despite everything in between, the two were very heavy during the shooting of ‘Denmohar’. Sitting on the set one day, Sophie Vikrampuri said, ‘We are not getting Moushumi Salman anymore. People can’t even imagine how beautiful the classical couple is losing the film industry. Moushumi does not believe that Salman Shah committed suicide. His comment – “I still do not believe that Salman committed suicide. A person full of vitality like him cannot go like this. That day when Ispahani and I were talking at FDC about her new movie, she told me that Moushumi had done the initial talks with Salman. Salman you are one again in my new movie. It was probably ‘You’re beautiful’. Which was later done with Sani.”
Salman is an emotional name in Moushumi’s life. Mentioning that, Moushumi said, ‘The memory of the state comes to my mind, sometimes I want to forget. On September 6, the mind is actually heavier.
