Alongside cork and marble, wood and leather are currently the most popular materials among designers and manufacturers. The Finnish-born designer Jonas Lutz, who lives and works in Rotterdam, also wants to emphasize the beauty of natural materials with his armchair for the Frankfurt label e 15. The seat made of belt leather in the colors natural, brandy or black is held by a solid wood frame (European oak or European walnut), the backrest, also made of wood, was simply covered with leather. For him, says Lutz, the goal of a chair is to let the body float in the air. That’s why the chair is called Ilma, the Finnish word for air.
