Manjeri: Football coach M from Nilambur. Kamaluddin can never have a greater Father’s Day joy. This football coach is happy that the big dream he saw through his son is coming true. Eldest son Mohammad Uwais (23) is all set to play in the Indian Super League (ISL). The call was made to Jamshedpur FC. Left-back Mohammad Uwais is leaving I-League champions Gokulam for the ISL from Kerala. Uwais played a crucial role in the defense of the team that retained the I-League title. Uwais learned the lessons of football from his father, who made football his life. He started at the age of six with the Nilambur United Football Academy. He later played for Pune Bharat FC, Mohun Bagan Academy, Delhi Sudeva FC, FC Kerala and FC Thrissur. He also played for KSEB in the Kerala Premier League. As the glittering performance continued, so did Gokul.

The team and Uwais returned with the I-League title in their first year. Uwais was loyal to the team on defense. Owais, who can play as a stopper back and right and left wing back, has been approached by several teams in the ISL. Apart from Jamshedpur, Kerala Blasters, Bangalore FC and SC East Bengal also came in but were able to lend a helping hand to Tata. Uwais, who was in the starting XI for the entire game for Gokul in the I-League, did not buy a single card in the match, which was an example of his ability. The contract with Jamshedpur is said to be for three years. Kamaluddin said his son had achieved his big dream. Gokulam teammate E.M. Abhijit is the top scorer in this Santosh Trophy. Kamaluddin also coached Jasin. In a post shared on Gokulam FC Facebook page congratulating Father’s Day, a picture of the two was also included.
