Salud Digna joins forces with Microsoft to offer digital services

by time news
  • Salud Digna is an association that has more than 175 clinics and is present in Mexico and Nicaragua.
  • As part of its digital transformation, it has implemented solutions such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI from Microsoft.
  • The result has been a reduction in report delivery times of up to 13 times.

Many times it is thought that the technology applied to the medical field is exclusive to modern private hospitals, but this is not the case. A clear example occurs with Salud Digna because thanks to an alliance with Microsoft it has managed to improve its patient care. At the same time, the purpose of this type of tool is also to support doctors in carrying out their professional work.

Attention and medical studies at low prices

With this in mind, Decent Health is a civil association dedicated to providing accessible medical services for the population. As part of its digital transformation, it has a collaboration with Microsoft. As a result, it has significantly improved its internal processes in recent years because it has optimized its response times.

From the above, a more agile delivery of results has been generated and, consequently, a better general experience for patients. In fact, it appreciated better in times of high demand in diagnostic studies, such as PCR tests.

The organization, with presence in more than 175 clinics in Mexico and Nicaraguahas opted for the implementation of solutions and services in the cloud, as well as the generation of a data analytics program, with the aim of making its operation more efficient.

Although the organization had already taken the first steps in its digital transformation, the arrival of the health emergency made evident the need to strengthen, expand and mature its technological infrastructure. In this way, critical services can be provided quickly and effectively, even in situations of high demand.

“Technology and, specifically, the Microsoft cloud, have been the foundation to support the exponential growth of data. This has made it possible to absorb the unprecedented operational peak of these disruptive times, without affecting the quality of care,” says Humberto Ruiz, Manager of Process Architecture at Salud Digna.

Digital tools that have been incorporated

Work with Microsoft, under the implementation of Teia Consultoría, began with the implementation of solutions and services in the cloud. Compared to the on-premises systems they had previously, it gave them greater visibility and control of workloads. With this, it allows a better balance in the use of resources and personnel, through the use of data analytics that provided key statistics for the association’s strategy.

This was essential for the installation of its molecular laboratory, a space dedicated to the diagnosis of COVID, where more than 10 million PCR studies were carried out, making it the institution with the second largest number of tests of this type in the country.

Such a flow gave them the opportunity to build a broader picture of infections on a national scale, enabling the identification of patterns to the point of predicting new waves of contagion even two months in advance.

As a result of the application of the capabilities of Azure Synapse Analytics, they have managed to structure the contextual data to develop intelligence models that are used throughout all their operations, thus deploying optimal management of their processes and making the entire chain more efficient. of supply.

This has allowed them to reduce delivery times in different areas: maximizing the availability of their systems, reducing the margin of error and accelerating the delivery of results to patients, in addition to improving the general experience of users and collaborators.

“With Azure Synapse Analytics, we can run on-demand analytics and reporting in near real time. Prior to this technology, we could only process information on X-rays, mammograms and magnetic resonances once a day”, highlights Héctor Velasco, Functional Director of the Center for Analytics and Intelligence at Salud Digna.

In the long term, the association seeks to extend this dynamic to the field of scientific research, proposing technology as a critical ally in collaborative and proactive decision-making.

For it, Salud Digna plans to integrate an Artificial Intelligence model applied to health, which allows the identification of triggers, indicators and predictors of diseases or epidemic outbreaks. The resulting data would be openly available, facilitating access to valuable information for both health authorities and academic institutions, autonomous organizations and civil society itself.

By betting on technology Microsoft, Dignified Health has created a comprehensive strategy that makes intelligence the core of all its processes and provides greater reliability and efficiency in diagnosis and health care.
