NARRATIVE – The head of OpenAI is seeking to raise trillions of dollars to build dozens of semiconductor production factories.

From 5000 to 7000 billion dollars. This sum, twice the GDP of France, is what Sam Altman is seeking to mobilize to carry out a project that he considers essential to enable the real development of artificial intelligence. THE Wall Street Journal revealed, on Thursday, the crazy costing of this initiative which is no less: multiplying the industrial fabric of AI, a sector which seems immaterial at first glance but which relies on factories to exist.
