Sam Fender To Revise Proper Massive Stadium Tour Ticket Prices

Sam Fender has pledged to revise ticket pricing for his 2027 “Proper Massive Stadium Tour” following widespread fan backlash. The North Shields singer-songwriter, who recently announced dates across the UK and Ireland, criticized the inflation of costs and the implementation of split-standing sections, labeling current ticket structures as bollocks on social media.

Fender’s Response to Ticket Pricing Criticism

The controversy emerged after Instagram user Gavin Davis published a breakdown of rumoured ticket prices for the upcoming tour. Seating prices at Wembley Stadium were reportedly set to range between £64.75 and £130.75. Other venues faced similar pricing reports, with top-tier tickets in Cardiff reaching £119, Manchester peaking at £119.60, and Edinburgh reaching £120.95. The hometown shows at Newcastle’s St James’ Park were reported to have seating prices ranging from £86.50 to £112.90.

He emphasized that the pricing had exceeded his expectations and clarified that he intended for costs to remain tied to the operational expenses of the tour. The 32-year-old expressed frustration that the practice of splitting standing areas had become normalized, confirming that this would not occur during his tour.

I’m not happy with these prices, they’re getting changed. It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on. The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it. I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It’s bollocks and it won’t be happening on this tour.

Sam Fender, musician

This is not the first time Fender has engaged with the politics of live music ticketing. Last November, he joined artists including Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Radiohead, and Robert Smith of The Cure in urging the UK government to implement a cap on secondary ticket prices. During his previous arena tour, he implemented a £1 ticket levy, which generated funds to support 38 grassroots music venues across the country. Reflecting on that initiative, Fender noted, It’s brilliant to see that the money raised from the arena tour is making a real difference to so many venues.

Fender Announces Largest Headline Stadium Tour

The Proper Massive Stadium Tour ’27 is set to be Fender’s largest headline run to date. The tour serves as a significant milestone, representing a massive expansion in scale since the 2019 release of Hypersonic Missiles. The tour dates were introduced through a theatrical announcement video featuring Fender and his bandmates dressed as characters from The Lord of the Rings, ceremonially lighting beacons at the venues he is set to visit.

The tour itinerary spans major stadiums, with the support act Wunderhorse confirmed for all UK stadium dates:

A notable ten-day gap exists between his second Wembley show on 20 June and his Dublin performance on 1 July, falling during the festival’s traditional late-June window. While festival organizer Emily Eavis has confirmed that all headliners for 2027 have been booked, she has cautioned that most public rumors remain inaccurate. If confirmed, it would mark Fender’s first appearance at Worthy Farm since 2022.

Mercury Prize Win Marks Career Success

Fender’s recent success is anchored by his critically acclaimed third album, People Watching, released in 2025 via Polydor Records. The album secured the 2025 Mercury Prize, with the singer donating the entire £25,000 prize to the Music Venue Trust. His career has also been defined by his record-breaking duet with Olivia Dean, Rein Me In. The track, which was debuted before 80,000 fans at his 2025 London Stadium show, eventually spent 23 non-consecutive weeks at the number one spot, becoming the longest-running UK number one single of all time.

Earlier this year, Fender was awarded Songwriter of the Year at the Ivor Novellos and took home the Song of the Year prize at the BRITs. As he prepares for his next creative chapter, he maintains a focus on both his large-scale live performances and his support for the broader music ecosystem.

Presale Access Requires Album Pre-Order

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the final ticket costs, the official ticket sale schedule remains in place. Fans hoping to secure presale access must pre-order Fender’s upcoming fourth album through his official store before 9:00 GMT on Monday, 26 October 2026. Unique codes are expected to be distributed via email by 8:00 on Tuesday, 27 October, with the presale opening at 9:30 on Wednesday, 28 October. General ticket sales are slated to begin at 9:30 GMT on Friday, 30 October. There is a purchase limit of six tickets per person.

In addition to standard admission, the tour features various hospitality packages, ranging from pub-style experiences at £350 to premium lounge options reaching £800 at Murrayfield, reflecting a range of options for concertgoers as the tour approaches.
