Sama II government: a team that took into account the notion of gender with 17 female ministers (Congoforum)

KINSHASA – Of the 58 members appointed to the new government team, there are 17 women, including 4 as ministers of state, 7 as ministers, 1 deputy minister and 5 as deputy ministers.

After nearly three months of suspense, the Sama Lukonde II government has been unveiled. Only the Minister of Gender, Isabelle Ndaya is among the five who leave the ship.

Thus, 04 women were appointed Ministers of State. They are Bazaiba Masudi Eve (Environment), Mutombo Kiesse Rose (Justice), Kayinda Adèle (Portfolio) and Judith Suminwa Tuluka (Plan);

As ministers, we have Claudine Ndusi (Employment), Antoinette N’samba (Mines), Mireille Bibi Masangu (Gender, family and children), Antoinette Kipulu (Vocational training), Catherine Katungu Furaha (Culture and arts), Nana Manuanina (Close the President), Anne-Marie Kalume (Responsible for relations with the parliament), Irène Esambo (Delegate Minister for Social Affairs, in charge of people living with disabilities);

Finally, 05 women appointed as deputy ministers: Élisée Bukumwana (Budget), O’neige Nsele (Finance), Aminata Namasia (EPST), Wivine Moleka (Hydrocarbons) and Séraphine Kilubu (Transport).

In this regard, let us recall that President Felix Tshisekedi, for having committed himself to the cause of women as a “Heforshe” (Him for her), he was designated in 2022 “Champion of Positive Masculinity of the African Union” .

“HeforShe” is a solidarity campaign for gender equality launched on September 20, 2014, by UN-Women. Its goal is to engage men and boys in the fight for gender equality and women’s rights, encouraging them to take action against inequalities experienced by men and other women.
