Same-sex marriage allowed in Switzerland! When first?

by time news

The government has announced that homosexuals can get married in Switzerland from July 1 next year.

With a two-thirds majority, voters voted in favor of the “Marriage for All” initiative.

In this case, Switzerland was one of the last countries in Western Europe to legalize same-sex marriage.

In the two-phase process, it has been reported that same-sex couples married abroad will have their status recognized from the beginning of January.

The new law will take effect six months later, with effect from July 1, 2022.

The government has said preparations for the wedding can be submitted before this date. Registered partnership will not be allowed after this date.

Hundreds of people are expected to use the law in the first year of its implementation.
