Last-minute move in the summer transfer market for Sampdoria, which, after announcing the new coach Andrea Sottil, officially confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Marco Silvestri just a few minutes before the transfer window closed.
“U.C. Sampdoria announces that it has acquired the sporting rights of player Marco Silvestri (born in Castelnovo ne’ Monti, Reggio Emilia, on March 2, 1991) on a permanent basis from Udinese Calcio,” reads the note released by the club. “The goalkeeper has signed with the blucerchiati until June 30, 2025.”
This strengthens the goalkeeping department with a player of superior quality, who will reunite with the coach who gave him a starting jersey in Udine. This move certifies that President Manfredi’s club was not convinced enough (especially after the initial seasonal outings) to rely on either Ghidotti or Vismara to defend the blucerchiati’s goal.
