Samsung BioLogics signed an order contract worth 2 trillion won, the largest ever. This is the first order received this year. It is predicted that once the 5th factory is completed in April this year, production scale will increase and global orders will continue for the time being.
Samsung BioLogics announced on the 14th that it had signed a contract manufacturing (CMO) contract worth 2.0747 trillion won with a European pharmaceutical company. This contract is the largest ever since Samsung BioLogics was founded and represents 40% of last year’s total order amount (KRW 5.4035 trillion). The contract period is until December 31, 2030, and the customer company and product name were not disclosed due to confidentiality provisions.
Last year, Samsung BioLogics signed three ‘big deals’ worth 1 trillion won in succession in major global markets such as the United States, Europe, and Asia. Accordingly, last year’s annual order amount was the largest ever, increasing by approximately 1.5 times compared to the previous year.
In April of this year, Factory 5 will be completed in two years. When Plant 5 begins operation, Samsung BioLogics’ total production volume will be 784,000 liters. The company plans to complete factories 6 to 8 by 2032, starting with factory 5.
Currently, Samsung BioLogics is participating in the ‘2025 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference’, a pharmaceutical and bio investment event held in San Francisco, USA, starting on the 13th (local time) to expand global customers.
