Samsung Expands Battery Plus Repair Program for Galaxy Devices in the US

October 18th, 2023

Samsung has announced a significant update to its Battery Plus repair program for Galaxy devices in the United States. Initially introduced by Samsung in 2018 as an Independent Service Provider for out-of-warranty devices, Battery Plus is now expanding its services to include repairs for devices still under warranty.

This expansion means that Battery Plus locations in the US are now positioned as Authorized Service Centers. This move allows Galaxy users to have their devices repaired at these locations, even if they are still within their warranty period. In addition, Battery Plus will now handle the repair of more complex devices like the Galaxy Z Fold series.

One key benefit of this expansion is that Battery Plus will be able to repair devices in-person, enabling quicker turnaround times. In some cases, customers will have their devices available on the same day. This is a significant improvement for Galaxy owners who previously had to send their devices to a Samsung service center and wait for them to be shipped back.

To ensure quality repairs, each Battery Plus location will have certified technicians who have received training to carry out a range of repairs beyond the standard ones. This is particularly important for the repair of foldable devices, which contain multiple components and require specialized expertise.

Samsung’s decision to expand the Battery Plus program is aimed at making convenient, fast, and high-quality repair options accessible to more people across the country. Initially, 35 physical Battery Plus locations will be able to repair Galaxy devices under warranty, with more locations expected to join in the future.

To schedule a repair appointment, users can visit the Battery Plus website. The expansion of services is set to commence this fall, providing Galaxy users with more options to get their devices repaired efficiently and conveniently. Samsung’s move is likely to be welcomed by Galaxy owners who are looking for reliable and timely repairs for their devices.
