The regulatory pipeline for Samsung’s next-generation hardware is steadily advancing. Following earlier IMEI database listings, FCC and BIS filings, and leaked CAD renders, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra have secured their Bluetooth SIG certifications. The database listings confirm that both models will arrive in distinct cellular and non-cellular variants.
Daniel Araujo, Samsung’s head of the strategic planning group for mobile experience, previously named the tablet lineup among the company’s planned premium products for the second half of 2026. While the certification process does not guarantee an immediate release date, it typically signals that hardware development is entering its final stages.
Mapping the Model Numbers and Regional Variants
The Bluetooth SIG database reveals a broad spread of model numbers, pointing to a tiered regional rollout for both devices.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is designated as the SM-X840 for its Wi-Fi configuration and the SM-X846B for its cellular counterpart. Meanwhile, the larger Tab S12 Ultra is tracked under the SM-X940 Wi-Fi model and the SM-X946B cellular version. According to industry database records, the Plus model appears poised to receive a wider array of regional cellular variants, with certain versions restricted to select markets including the United States, South Korea, and Europe.
Expected Hardware Specifications and Launch Windows
Industry reporting points to robust hardware upgrades for the upcoming generation. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to showcase a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display operating at a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is projected to maintain its expansive 14.6-inch OLED panel, alongside an 11,600mAh battery capacity carrying over from the previous generation.
Under the hood, both tablets are anticipated to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor, marking a strategic shift away from Qualcomm silicon for Samsung’s flagship slate lineup. Configurations are expected to offer 12GB or 16GB of RAM, with storage tiers starting at 256GB and stretching up to 1TB on the Ultra. Leaked pricing estimates suggest the Galaxy Tab S12+ could start around $1,100, while the Tab S12 Ultra may reach approximately $1,400 for the base configuration.
As for availability, current timelines highlight two distinct possibilities. Observers point to IFA Berlin, which runs from September 4 to 8, as the most probable announcement window. Alternatively, unconfirmed leak reports suggest a potential debut on October 7.
