Samsung Galaxy Z Fold: A special version arrives with S Pen included in the body

Recently, Samsung has once again been at the centre of interesting rumours regarding the next Galaxy Z Fold Special Editionpreviously known by the code names “Z Fold Slim” o “Z Fold Ultra.” The latest leak concerns support for the S Pen.

According to a rumor from popular tipster Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), the next-gen foldable device could actually be compatible with Samsung’s S Pen, contradicting previous reports to the contrary. There’s even talk of a slot inside the body, but there are conflicting opinions on this. However, it’s important to note that none of these rumors have been officially confirmed by Samsung, so it’s best to err on the side of caution.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold: What do we know about the new model?

Even if S Pen support does materialize, that doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a dedicated shelf inside the phone to house it. As with the Galaxy Z Fold6, users will likely have to carry the S Pen separately.

The main reason is lack of space; unlike the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which has a built-in slot for a stylus, foldables don’t have the internal space for such a feature. Adding a slot for this may require compromises, such as reducing the size of the battery or increasing the thickness of the phone.

Besides the stylus support however, there are other rumours about the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It is expected to have a 200MP main camera, which is impressive for a foldable device. The phone is also expected to be very thin, measuring just 4.9mm when unfolded and 10.6mm when closed. The panel size also seems generous, with an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch outer screen.
