Samsung has introduced the fourth generation of UFS memory, the memory that serves as the basis for storage memory in today’s smartphones. The new memory, UFS 4.0, was introduced by the company In a series of tweets on TwitterAnd it presents a full range of enhancements compared to the UF 3.1 and UFS 3.0 memories used primarily by the flagship devices of the current generation.

The dry data comes from the heads that the data transfer speed of the memory, which is based on V-NAND generation seven with Samsung’s proprietary controller, reaches 4,200 megabytes / second compared to 2,800 megabits / second per read. Also the power consumption in read mode is 46% lower than the memory of the previous generation.

According to Samsung, the data transfer speed to the channel reaches 23.2 gigabits / second, which is almost double the UFS 3.1 memory, and thanks to the new memories, it is possible to build a storage system of up to 1 terabyte in next-generation phones.

“Memory will provide the ‘perfect bandwidth’ for 5G phones that require huge amounts of data processing, and we expect to see the technology adopted in augmented reality, virtual reality and automotive applications,” the company said in the first quarter of 2023.
