The new Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification function adds to existing ECG and Blood Pressure monitoring, to help users track abnormal heart rhythms and get more detailed information about heart health.

San Salvador. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature of the Samsung Health Monitor app will be available in 13 markets starting this summer.
Combined with the app’s blood pressure and electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, the IHRN feature detects heart rhythms that suggest atrial fibrillation (AF), helping Galaxy Watch users understand their heart health more fully .
The Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety approved the IHRN function last week, following recent clearance from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). It will also be presented in Argentina, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Panama, the United Arab Emirates, as well as Korea and the United States. In this way, coverage amounts to 13 markets.
Along with on-demand ECG monitoring, the IHRN function checks for irregular heart rhythms in the background and alerts the user in the event of possible Atrial Fibrillation activity. Along with monitoring blood pressure and heart rate, users can get even more detailed information about their cardiovascular health.
Since its launch in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app has been extended to 74 markets around the world. More than 15 million Galaxy Watch users have tracked their blood pressure and ECG right from their wrist, getting a better picture of their heart health by continuously monitoring and recording their blood pressure and heart rhythms.
The irregular heart rhythm notification feature will first be available on upcoming Galaxy Watch devices later this year, as part of the new One UI 5 Watch, and will be extended to previous editions thereafter.
