Samsung Innovation Campus 2024 Scholarship for Guatemalan Women
The Beca Samsung Innovation Campus 2024 is an excellent educational opportunity for young people interested in acquiring skills in Python programming e Artificial intelligence —IA—. This program, in collaboration with FUNDS TEAMa nonprofit organization focused on promoting science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics—STEAM—in Latin America, aims to prepare students to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The primary purpose of the program is to provide technical training in key areas of computer science, with a focus on developing innovative solutions that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Educational program details
The Samsung Innovation Campus -SIC- lasts 6 months, equivalent to 240 hours of virtual training, and is developed in a mixed format that includes synchronous and asynchronous learning. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to learn basic concepts of programming language and development in artificial intelligence, always combining theory and practice.
The course is designed for students to work on innovative projects that address real problems, putting into practice what they have learned throughout the program. At the end of the program, participants will be able to acquire a valuable certification issued by Samsung and FUNDESTEAM.
Profile of the candidates
The scholarship is aimed at women between 18 and 22 years old, residents of Guatemala, who have a genuine interest in learning computational skills and developing in fields such as programming, mathematics and artificial intelligence. Specific requirements include:
- Be between 18 and 22 years old.
- Residing in Guatemala
- Show interest in learning skills and techniques in Python and Artificial Intelligence.
- Preferably be studying the first semesters of engineering or related careers, especially in official educational institutions.
- Possess a computer with a minimum i3 processor and 8 GB of RAM, to ensure good performance in using tools such as Python.
- Have a stable Internet connection.
- Have time to comply with established schedules.
- Deliver a letter of commitment.
- Pass a math exam with at least 50%.
- Successfully pass the pre-selection interview.
